FROM NETHERLANDS WITH LOVE
The TCS AMSTERDAM MARATHON race took place on 19 October and our Runners started with the heart in their hands and the SSF symbol on their back to represent us in this beautiful edition of the Dutch capital. They had a beautiful weather and a blissful joy along their journey. Here is Simone’s sharing about the day. Thank you Runners of the Heart! See you again at the next race!
The Runners of Sport Senza Frontiere never stop
by Simone Gavino
They keep running, at any time, by any weather, by any temperature. They do it smiling because they know that they are offering a smile. This time they have decided to do it in a big group and to go far. They chose the Amsterdam Marathon and helped to color the race wearing t-shirts with Sport Senza Frontiere’s solidarity symbol. A huge team composed of 24 runners: 6 marathon runners (Alexander, Lucia, Camilla, Paul, Dominic and Mauro) who faced the challenge, venturing with the distance of 42 Km . Ten have trun the 21 km half marathon (Priscilla, Alberta, Marilena, Franco, Eugene, Simone, John, Francis, Antonello and Massimo). And finally eight other runners have chosen to engage in the 8 km (Daniela, Paola, Loredana, Paula, Elizabeth, Lucio, Francesco and Simone).
All the 24 have completed the race with great success and they all traveled the beauty of 530 kilometers while carrying Sport Senza Frontiere’s symbol on their shoulders. Each one of them has suffered and struggled but we are sure that in the hardest and most tiring moments of the race, the SSF’s “little man” helped our runners to reach the finishing line in Amsterdam’s beautiful Olympic Stadium.
The Runners of Sport Senza Frontiere never stop.
They have a good reason to run, which is why they do it with a smile .
